UGC-NET 2024 has been cancelled. PM Narendra Modi is questioned by Mallikarjun Kharge:

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, along with Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and other opposition leaders, criticized the Modi government sharply following the cancellation of the UGC-NET examination due to suspected compromises in its integrity. They accused the government of being a “paper leak government” and demanded accountability from the Education Minister. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra specifically called out the government’s handling of the UGC-NET 2024 issue, emphasizing the need to hold those responsible to account.

In a Hindi post on social media, Mallikarjun Kharge lambasted Prime Minister Narendra Modi, questioning when the government would address issues like NEET leaks with the same seriousness they discuss other exams. Kharge portrayed the cancellation of the UGC-NET exam as a victory for the determination of thousands of students and criticized the Modi administration’s arrogance for jeopardizing the futures of young people.

Kharge also pointed to previous controversies surrounding the NEET exam, where initially the government denied paper leaks but later acknowledged irregularities after arrests in Bihar, Gujarat, and Haryana. He demanded clarity on whether the NEET exam would also be cancelled, calling on Modi to take responsibility for preventing corruption and leaks.

The Congress party echoed these sentiments, accusing the Modi government of endangering youth prospects by mishandling exams. They highlighted the cancellation of UGC-NET after suspicions of paper leaks, following earlier allegations of NEET paper leaks. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, in her statement, condemned what she described as corruption and negligence under the BJP government, urging accountability and responsibility from the Education Minister.

Amid the controversy, the Union Education Ministry cancelled the UGC-NET exam and referred the matter to the CBI for investigation, while also seeking a report from the Bihar Police regarding alleged irregularities in NEET 2024 in Patna. The situation remains tense as the opposition continues to press for answers and transparency regarding these significant educational exams.
