Security forces stopped terrorists from entering near the Line of Control (LoC) in Kupwara district, Jammu and Kashmir, on Sunday. They killed three terrorists during the incident, as confirmed by the Indian Army.
Troops noticed heavily armed terrorists trying to cross the LoC in the Keran sector of Kupwara. There was intense firing, resulting in the elimination of three terrorists. The operation is still going on, and weapons and other military items were recovered from the terrorists.
The army, paramilitary forces, and Jammu and Kashmir Police are working together to fight terrorism. They are targeting hideouts and arresting over-ground workers and supporters.
Recent security steps include stationing army and CRPF personnel on all mountain tops in the Jammu division. This is to prevent terrorists from surprising security forces with attacks. In recent months, terrorists have carried out attacks and then vanished into thick forests in districts like Poonch, Rajouri, and others nearby.
The Army has not reported any casualties on either side during this ongoing operation.
