A terrorist attack on a bus transporting devotees has left 10 dead and several others injured.
Terrorists struck a devastating blow in Jammu, targeting a bus ferrying pilgrims from Shiv Khori to Katra. The tragedy unfolded around 6:10 PM local time in the Pouni area of Reasi district, near Rajouri, when armed assailants launched their assault, causing the bus driver to lose control. The vehicle veered off the road and plunged into a nearby gorge, claiming the lives of 10 individuals and leaving several others injured.
In a commendable display of prompt action, local villagers and law enforcement personnel swiftly evacuated all passengers by 8:10 PM. Spearheaded by SSP (Reasi) Mohita Sharma, the rescue operation ensured that the injured received urgent medical attention. Thirteen were rushed to the District Headquarters Hospital in Reasi, five to CHC Treyath, and fifteen to the Government Medical College in Jammu.
In the aftermath of this heinous attack, a joint security force operation headquarters has been established. Comprising personnel from the police, army, and CRPF, their mission is clear: to conduct a comprehensive operation aimed at tracking down and bringing to justice the perpetrators responsible for this reprehensible act.
