Tata Motors is set to expand the Nexon SUV’s lineup with new powertrain options. The popular SUV will soon feature a petrol-CNG variant, alongside an all-new Diesel DCA version. Here’s what we know:
Upcoming Powertrain Options
Petrol-CNG Variant:
- Tata Motors is adding a petrol-CNG option to the Nexon, broadening its engine range in India.
New Diesel DCA Variant:
- Engine Update: The Nexon diesel may receive the latest Kryojet engine, delivering enhanced performance.
- Transmission: The new Diesel DCA variant will come with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, similar to the one found in the Curvv.
- Top Features: Expect potential additions like a panoramic sunroof on the top variant.
Nexon Diesel DCA Overview
- Current Setup: The Nexon diesel is currently equipped with a 1.5-litre Revotorq engine, producing 115hp, and offers options for an AMT or a 6-speed manual transmission.
- New Engine: The Diesel DCA variant will feature the 1.5-litre Kryojet engine, generating 118hp. This engine is likely to be positioned at the top of the Nexon lineup.
- Features: Spy shots suggest the inclusion of a panoramic sunroof in this variant. The Diesel DCA is expected to be available on the Nexon Fearless trim.
Transmission Options
- Gearbox Choices: With the introduction of the Diesel DCA, the Nexon diesel will offer two engine options (Revotorq and Kryojet) and up to four gearbox choices, including two manuals and two automatics.
