In Ayodhya, a disturbing case has emerged involving a 12-year-old girl who was allegedly gang-raped by local figures associated with the Samajwadi Party. According to the girl’s mother, local leaders from the party, including an individual named Rashid, offered her money to withdraw the complaint against the accused, who is identified as a Samajwadi Party functionary. This accusation adds a troubling dimension to the case, suggesting attempts to influence and obstruct justice.
The police have arrested two individuals: Moid Khan, a local party leader and bakery owner, and his employee, Raju Khan. Both are accused of raping and impregnating the young girl, who was employed at Khan’s bakery. The girl’s mother claims that her daughter was taken from her workplace to a field where the assault occurred.
In response to the incident, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and state police officials have promised a thorough investigation and strict action. Additionally, a leader from the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), Vishwanath Pal, reported that the girl’s mother was pressured to reach a compromise, but the BSP has assured her of support and justice.
Political reactions have been swift and polarized. The BJP, led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, has highlighted Moid Khan’s affiliation with the Samajwadi Party, suggesting political motives behind the incident. However, the Samajwadi Party, led by Akhilesh Yadav, has distanced itself from the accused and called for justice, urging the court to protect the survivor and prevent the case from being politicized. Yadav has also controversially requested DNA tests for the accused, intensifying the public debate surrounding this tragic event.
