Punjab Police raids Bhatinda: On June 17th, the Punjab police conducted extensive raids targeting multiple hideouts associated with gangster Lakhbir Singh Landa in Bathinda. Superintendent of Police Narinder Singh provided details of the operations, stating that five individuals were apprehended as part of ongoing search operations. He emphasized that the raids were conducted in accordance with directives from the Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) and guidance from SSP Bathinda, focusing on combating gang-related activities and narcotics trafficking.
SP Narinder Singh elaborated, “Our operations this morning focused on locations linked to the Landa gang. Subsequently, we conducted a thorough search at Beed Talab Basti, yielding significant intelligence related to narcotics. As a result, five suspects have been detained and are undergoing questioning.”
Highlighting the seriousness of the situation, SP Narinder Singh underscored the directives from the DGP Punjab to intensify actions against both gangs and narcotics. He emphasized the ongoing commitment to combat these threats effectively, describing it as a sustained effort requiring continuous vigilance and decisive enforcement.
Additionally, the police seized a bullet motorcycle and a car in Bathinda as part of the operation. This recent crackdown follows earlier arrests made by Punjab Police’s Anti-Gangster Task Force in February, targeting associates linked to terrorists Harwinder Singh alias Rinda and Lakhbir Singh alias Landa Harike. These efforts are part of the state government’s initiative under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to eliminate organized crime and enhance public safety across Punjab.
