The recent arrest of two doctors and a hospital staff member from Sassoon General Hospital has revealed a troubling development regarding a minor’s blood sample. Dr. Ajay Taware, head of the Forensic Medicine Department, was found to have had extensive communication with the minor’s father just before the sample collection, exchanging multiple phone calls within a short timeframe.
In their efforts to detain Dr. Taware and his associates, the police presented their findings to a court, alleging that the doctors accepted bribes to tamper with the minor’s blood sample. It was uncovered that the original sample was discarded, and someone else’s blood was substituted to manipulate the alcohol test results.
During the arrests, a significant sum of money was seized from Dr. Shrihari Halnor and Atul Ghatkamble, raising suspicions of their involvement in illicit activities. Investigators are now closely scrutinizing Dr. Taware’s financial transactions to determine the extent of his involvement.
