Nissan has launched the X-Trail SUV in India at an ex-showroom price of Rs 49.92 lakh in Delhi. This three-row SUV is being imported in its entirety. Nissan offers a standard 3-year/1 lakh km warranty with the X-Trail, along with three years of complimentary roadside assistance.
The X-Trail is available in a single variant and is powered by a 1.5-litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine with front-wheel drive. This engine, which features a 12V mild-hybrid system, produces 163hp and 300Nm of torque. It is paired with a shift-by-wire CVT automatic gearbox, which minimizes the rubberband effect. The engine also utilizes Nissan’s patented variable compression technology, allowing it to adjust the compression ratio to optimize either performance or fuel efficiency as needed.
In terms of features, the Nissan X-Trail includes a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display, a wireless smartphone charger, keyless entry and start, drive modes, an electronic parking brake with auto-hold function, and cruise control. The X-Trail comes with a 7-seater configuration as standard. The second row has 40/20/40 split-folding, sliding, and reclining functions, while the third row offers 50/50 split-folding and reclining functions.
For safety, the X-Trail is equipped with seven airbags, automatic wipers, ABS with EBD, traction control, a limited-slip differential, hill-start assist, and front parking sensors.
The Nissan X-Trail competes with other premium 7-seater SUVs such as the Toyota Fortuner, Skoda Kodiaq, Jeep Meridian, and MG Gloster. The Meridian and Gloster are expected to receive facelifts later this year, while the Kodiaq is slated for a generational update in 2025.
