Pralhad Joshi, a BJP leader, has confirmed during the ongoing NDA parliamentary meeting that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is slated to take the oath for his third consecutive term on Sunday at 6 pm. The discussions are currently underway to finalize the distribution of cabinet positions within the NDA alliance. Today, Modi, accompanied by other NDA leaders such as TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu and JD(U) leader Nitish Kumar, is expected to meet with President Droupadi Murmu to officially stake their claim for government formation.
Recent events have shown a shift in favor of the Congress, with its Lok Sabha count reaching 100 seats. This increase comes after Vishal Patil, the independent candidate who won the Sangli Lok Sabha seat, pledged support to the Grand Old Party, INDIA bloc, and the Maha Vikas Aghadi. Meanwhile, in a recent press conference, Rahul Gandhi called for an investigation into the suspicious fluctuations of share prices after exit polls and their subsequent decline on election results day, denouncing it as the “biggest scam” in Indian stock market history.
In terms of parliamentary numbers, the BJP-led NDA currently holds 293 seats following Tuesday’s results, while the Opposition’s INDIA bloc has secured 234 seats. Within these figures, the BJP alone has attained 240 seats, and the Congress reached a total of 100 seats by Thursday night.
