Munjya hits 100-crore mark

The film “Munjya,” directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, has made a significant impact at the box office, according to official figures from the production house. It has grossed over Rs 103 crore in total collections, with a nett collection reported at Rs 87.35 crore. The film started strong, earning Rs 4 crore on its opening day, and maintained momentum throughout its theatrical run. By the end of its first week, “Munjya” had accumulated Rs 36.50 crore, followed by an impressive Rs 32 crore in its second week.

Set against the picturesque backdrop of the Konkan region in Maharashtra, “Munjya” delves deep into Marathi folklore, revolving around the mythical creature Munjya and its impact on the protagonist Bittu, played by Abhay Verma. The cast also includes Sharvari Wagh, Mona Singh, and Sathyaraj, each contributing to the film’s narrative depth and cultural resonance.

Produced by Maddock Films, known for successful horror-comedies like “Stree,” “Roohi,” and “Bhediya,” “Munjya” marks another triumph for the production house in this genre. Maddock Films is gearing up for the release of “Stree 2,” starring Rajkummar Rao, in the near future, underscoring its commitment to entertaining and engaging storytelling.

Sharvari Wagh, elated by the film’s box office performance, expressed her joy and gratitude, describing the positive response as a validation of her work.
