Mercedes-Benz India will reveal the pricing for the EQS Maybach electric SUV on September 5. Debuting in China last year, the EQS Maybach SUV will join the Mercedes-Maybach GLS in the brand’s Indian lineup. As Mercedes-Benz’s flagship electric SUV globally, the EQS Maybach stands out with Maybach-specific design, features, and technology upgrades compared to the standard EQS SUV.
Distinctive Features of the Maybach EQS SUV
The Maybach EQS SUV features distinctive chrome highlights and numerous Maybach logos, similar to the recent facelifted Mercedes-Maybach GLS available in India. The front boasts a sealed black panel that mimics a grille, housing radar sensors for ADAS. Vertical chrome strips on the panel add a 3D effect, and the faux grille’s upper section displays chrome “Maybach” lettering.
Side features include additional chrome accents on the window line and B-pillar, an extra Maybach logo on the D-pillar, and “EQS” embossing on the window frame. Wheel options include 21- or 22-inch alloy and forged wheels adorned with Maybach lettering, while factory-fitted illuminated running boards finished in anodized aluminum enhance the exterior.
Interior and Technology
Inside, the Maybach EQS SUV retains the dashboard layout of the standard EQS SUV but adds Maybach-specific graphics across three screens. Exclusive features include animated displays in Maybach mode.
The rear seat entertainment system includes two 11.6-inch displays mounted on the front seatbacks and an MBUX tablet for rear passengers, which can also be used outside the vehicle.
Powertrain and Performance
The Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV offers two electric powertrain options. The top-spec EQS 680 features 4MATIC all-wheel drive, delivering 658hp and 950Nm, with a range of up to 600km (WLTP). It can accelerate from 0-100kph in 4.4 seconds and has a top speed of 210kph. The EQS 580 4MATIC variant, in comparison, produces 544hp and has a range of up to 456km. It is yet to be confirmed which version will be available in India. More details on the Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV will be unveiled closer to its launch.
