Mark Zuckerberg Unveils Giant Roman-Style Statue of Wife in Backyard

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has won hearts with a recent Instagram post featuring a statue he commissioned in honor of his wife, Priscilla Chan. The statue, inspired by “Roman tradition,” depicts Chan in a life-sized sculpture crafted by artist Daniel Arsham.

In his Instagram post, Zuckerberg shared a photo and video of Chan, 39, standing next to the statue, which shows her in a flowing silver garment, as if caught in a gentle breeze. He captioned the post, “Bringing back the Roman tradition of making sculptures of your wife,” and thanked Arsham for his work.

Chan, 39, also shared the image on her Instagram Story with a humorous comment, “You can’t miss me!” The tradition of creating statues to honor loved ones, historically practiced by Romans, is echoed in this tribute.

In the scene, Chan is seen sipping from a travel mug, dressed in a dusty pink robe with white and blue details, next to the vivid statue. The artwork portrays her as a mother caught in the wind.

The couple, who first met in 2003 at a Harvard party, married in a surprise outdoor ceremony in 2012 at their Palo Alto home, initially intended as a celebration of Chan’s medical school graduation.

They have since welcomed three children: Maxima, born eight years ago, and daughters August and Aurelia, with Aurelia arriving in 2022.

This summer, Zuckerberg and Chan attended the pre-wedding events of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant in India, where they made a stylish appearance in matching black outfits—Zuckerberg in a suit with gold dragonfly embellishments and Chan in a dress with golden floral details.

Zuckerberg shared his enjoyment of the event on Instagram, writing, “Love an Indian wedding. Congrats to Anant and Radhika.”
