Mahindra has positioned the Scorpio-N SUV just below the XUV700 but above the previous-generation Scorpio, which continues as the Scorpio Classic. It offers a choice between a 2.0-litre turbo petrol and a 2.2-litre diesel engine, available with both 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions. The highlight of the Scorpio-N is Mahindra’s new ‘4XPLOR’ 4WD system, complete with terrain modes and a low-range mode, distinguishing it as the sole ladder-frame model among current three-row SUVs in its price segment.
Recently, Mahindra has enhanced the Scorpio N SUV by enriching the feature set across its top three trims: Z8 Select, Z8, and Z8 L, without any increase in prices.
Key updates include:
- The Z8 L variant now features an auto-dimming rear-view mirror.
- All trims receive a new high-gloss finish for the centre console.
- Midnight Black exterior paint option, initially exclusive to the Z8 Select, is now available across all Z8 trims.
Moreover, the Z8 Select and Z8 now boast a wireless charger and the same high-gloss finish for the centre console. The Z8 L additionally offers ventilated front seats and an active cooling wireless charging pad, alongside its other enhancements.
Prices for the Scorpio N range are as follows:
- Z8 Select: Starts from Rs 17.10 lakh
- Z8: Starts from Rs 18.74 lakh
- Z8 L: Starts from Rs 20.37 lakh (ex-showroom, India)
It’s important to note that Mahindra recently implemented a price hike across the Scorpio N lineup, increasing costs by approximately Rs 10,000.
Aside from these updates, the Scorpio N retains its comprehensive list of features. The top-spec Z8 L trim includes 6 airbags, a 7-inch touchscreen, a powered driver’s seat, a sunroof, 18-inch alloy wheels, a Sony audio system, front and rear cameras, and a driver drowsiness detection system, among other amenities.
The Scorpio N remains available with a choice between the 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and 2.2-litre diesel engines, each paired with either a 6-speed manual or automatic gearbox. Notably, the 4WD capability is exclusive to the diesel variant.
