Mahindra is gearing up to introduce a new electric SUV, the XUV 3XO EV, a battery-powered variant of the XUV 3XO. Recently, the XUV 3XO EV was spotted testing, signaling that its launch is imminent.

Design and Styling

  • Camouflaged Spied Shots: The XUV 3XO EV was seen fully camouflaged during testing, but some features are visible, including C-shaped LED daytime running lights and part of the front grille.
  • Design Tweaks: Compared to the internal combustion engine (ICE) version, the EV will feature minor design changes such as restyled bumpers, a revised grille, and distinctive badging. New alloy wheels, possibly with plastic inserts for improved efficiency, will also be part of the update.

Positioning and Dimensions

  • Placement: The XUV 3XO EV will be positioned below the XUV400 in Mahindra’s electric vehicle lineup.
  • Dimensions: As the XUV 3XO is a sub-4-metre vehicle, the EV variant will have similar dimensions, making it approximately 200mm shorter than the XUV400. Consequently, the boot space will likely be smaller than that of the XUV400.

Specifications and Pricing

  • Battery and Range: The XUV 3XO EV is expected to feature a 35kWh battery, which is smaller than the 40kWh battery in the XUV400 EV. Details on the range and electric motor specifications are yet to be revealed.
  • Pricing: The XUV 3XO EV will likely be priced around Rs 2 lakh less than the XUV400, which ranges from Rs 15.49 lakh to Rs 19.39 lakh. For comparison, the Tata Nexon EV is priced between Rs 14.49 lakh and Rs 19.49 lakh.

The XUV 3XO EV is anticipated to enhance Mahindra’s electric vehicle offerings, providing a more affordable alternative within the company’s growing EV portfolio.
