Lamborghini has introduced the new Urus SE in India, starting at Rs. 4.57 crore (ex-showroom). This latest Urus variant marks Lamborghini’s transition to plug-in hybrid technology, replacing the previous Performante and S versions. Alongside a new hybrid powertrain, the Urus SE boasts updated exterior and interior designs, along with enhanced technology and features.
Urus SE: Lamborghini’s Second Plug-In Hybrid
The Urus SE features an 800hp 4.0-litre V8 plug-in hybrid powertrain, offering an electric-only range of up to 60km. This model combines the power of a re-engineered twin-turbocharged V8 engine, producing 620hp and 800Nm, with a 25.9kWh lithium-ion battery pack. The system also includes an electric motor integrated into the 8-speed automatic transmission, delivering a combined output of 800hp and 950Nm.
In electric-only mode, the Urus SE can reach speeds of up to 130kph, with four-wheel drive still active. Lamborghini claims a 0-100kph acceleration time of 3.4 seconds and a top speed of 312kph.
Drive Modes and Suspension
The Urus SE features traditional drive modes like Strada, Sport, and Corsa for road and track use, along with Neve, Sabbia, and Terra for off-road conditions. It introduces four new modes: EV Drive, Hybrid, Recharge, and Performance. The Recharge mode allows up to 80 percent battery recharging while maintaining performance, applicable across Strada, Sport, Corsa, and Neve modes. Performance mode is available for both on-road and off-road driving.
The SUV is equipped with air suspension, an electronic limited-slip rear differential, updated electronics, and 48V anti-roll bars for improved handling and stability.
Exterior, Interior, and Features
While the Urus SE maintains a familiar overall design, it features a redesigned bonnet extending seamlessly to the nose and slimmer headlamps with LED matrix technology, deviating from the previous Y-motif signature. The updated front includes a new bumper and a larger, more aggressive grille.
At the rear, the Urus SE showcases a new tailgate with a contrasting trim, Y-shaped LED tail-lights, a new spoiler, and a relocated registration plate within a larger diffuser. The wheels come in 21-, 22-, or 23-inch sizes and are fitted with Pirelli P Zero tyres.
Inside, the Urus SE introduces new dashboard panels with a more 3D appearance, revised AC vents, and new seats. The standout update is a 12.3-inch central touchscreen (up from 10.1 inches) featuring the latest software and interface seen in the Revuelto. Lamborghini continues to offer extensive customization options, including over 100 exterior colors and 47 interior finishes, with further personalization available through the Ad Personam program.
