On Friday, July 26, U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris officially entered the 2024 presidential race by signing the necessary documents. She conveyed her confidence that her grassroots-driven campaign will triumph in the November election.
Harris took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to share her announcement, writing, “Today, I signed the forms officially declaring my candidacy for President of the United States. I will work hard to earn every vote. And in November, our people-powered campaign will win.”
In her campaign announcement, Harris emphasized her dedication to working tirelessly to secure each vote and expressed optimism about her chances. She will be contending against former President Donald Trump, who is running for the presidency for a third time.
Earlier this week, actor and prominent Democratic fundraiser George Clooney voiced his support for Harris. Additionally, President Joe Biden praised her in a recent Oval Office address, calling her a “great vice president” with the experience, toughness, and capability needed for the role. He urged the American people to make their choice.
White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre also underscored Harris’s qualifications, asserting that she is the most fitting candidate for the Democratic Party’s presidential nomination.
With the election set for November 5, Harris’s campaign is preparing for a competitive race, focusing on strong grassroots support and high expectations.
