In the ongoing ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 match on Sunday, Pakistan failed to chase a modest target of 120 runs against India, losing by six runs. Despite Mohammad Rizwan’s 31 runs, Pakistan struggled to build partnerships, managing only 113 runs for the loss of seven wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Jasprit Bumrah was the standout bowler for India, taking three wickets, supported by Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, and Arshdeep Singh who claimed two wickets collectively.
Due to rain, the match’s start was delayed. Despite this, Indian batsmen couldn’t post a formidable total against Pakistan, getting bundled out for 119 runs in 19 overs. Rishabh Pant was the lone Indian batter to make a significant contribution. Pakistan’s bowlers, especially Haris Rauf and Naseem Shah with three wickets each, along with Mohammad Amir and Shaheen Shah Afridi, restricted India’s scoring opportunities.
Babar Azam, winning the toss, chose to field first against India led by Rohit Sharma. It was a highly anticipated encounter between the rival teams in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024.
