Title: IAF Commemorates 25th Kargil Vijay Diwas with Spectacular Air Show
The Indian Air Force marked the 25th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas with a breathtaking air show at Air Force Station Sarsawa in Uttar Pradesh’s Saharanpur. The event, held in anticipation of the July 26 anniversary, showcased extraordinary feats of courage and skill, featuring displays by the Air Warrior Drill Team and the daring maneuvers of the skydiving team.
IAF’s social media update highlighted the event: “Celebrating 25 years of Kargil victory, #IAF organized an awe-inspiring air show. The flawless precision of the Air Warrior Drill Team and the daring skydiving displays by #AkashGanga were complemented by spectacular formations of Rafale, Jaguar, AN-32, and Dornier aircraft, captivating the audience. The day culminated with a mesmerizing low-level aerobatic performance by the Su-30 MKI over the skies of Air Force Station Sarsawa.”
The event also paid tribute to fallen heroes with a poignant ‘Missing Man’ formation and Mi-17 helicopter slithering operations. The IAF and Indian Army bands delivered a memorable performance to conclude the ceremony, honoring the courage and sacrifices of the soldiers who participated in Operation Vijay in 1999.
This year’s 25th anniversary celebrations will be held on July 26 at the historic Ridge Ground in Shimla, organized in collaboration with the district administration, Department of Soldier Welfare, and the Army. In case of inclement weather, the event will move to Gaiety Theatre, featuring special parades and weapon displays at Ridge Maidan.
