Hyundai has introduced a new S(O)+ variant for the Venue, priced at Rs 10 lakh. This new variant enhances the S(O) version by adding a sunroof, making it the most affordable Venue trim to offer this feature.
Key Features of the Venue S(O)+ Variant:
- Positioning: The S(O)+ variant is positioned between the S(O) (Rs 9.89 lakh) and SX (Rs 11.05 lakh) variants.
- Engine: It is only available with a 1.2-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox.
- Sunroof: The main addition to the S(O)+ variant is an electric sunroof, a feature previously available only from the SX variant onwards.
Comparison with Rivals:
Despite the addition of the new variant, the Hyundai Venue isn’t the most affordable compact SUV in India to offer a sunroof. The Mahindra XUV 3OO MX2 Pro holds that title, priced at Rs 8.99 lakh.
Additional Features in the Venue S(O)+:
Besides the sunroof, the Venue S(O)+ also includes:
- Lighting: LED projector headlamps with Daytime Running Lamps (DRLs).
- Infotainment: An 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
- Display: A digital instrument cluster.
- Safety: Six airbags, a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Hill Assist Control (HAC), and a rear camera.
Pricing and Competition:
The Hyundai Venue is currently priced between Rs 7.94 lakh and Rs 13.48 lakh. It competes with several other compact SUVs, including:
- Kia Sonet
- Mahindra XUV 3OO
- Tata Nexon
- Maruti Brezza
- Maruti Fronx
- Nissan Magnite
- Renault Kiger
- Toyota Taisor
The addition of the S(O)+ variant enhances the Venue’s appeal by offering a sunroof at a more accessible price point, adding to the model’s competitive edge in the crowded compact SUV segment.
