Royal Enfield’s new Guerrilla 450 marks a significant departure from its traditional offerings, presenting itself as the company’s first truly modern neo-retro roadster. Here’s a comprehensive look at its features, specifications and we hope we clear-up all your doubts and questions.
Weight and Dimensions
The Guerrilla 450 tips the scales at 185kg, making it 11kg lighter than the Himalayan 450, its sibling in Royal Enfield’s lineup. This reduction in weight is attributed to the Guerrilla’s smaller 11-litre fuel tank, in contrast to the Himalayan’s 17 litres, and its 17-inch alloy wheels.
Seat Height
One of the Guerrilla 450’s standout features is its seat height of 780mm, the lowest in its category. For riders seeking additional comfort or a higher stance, Royal Enfield offers optional seats through their GMA (Genuine Motorcycle Accessories) catalogue.
Colour Options
The Guerrilla 450 is available in five striking colors: Smoke Silver, Playa Black, Gold Dip, Yellow Ribbon, and Brava Blue. These vibrant and youthful options mark a departure from Royal Enfield’s more traditional color schemes.
Variants
The Guerrilla 450 is offered in three variants: Analogue, Dash, and Flash. The base Analogue model features a semi-digital instrument cluster with a digi-analogue display and a Tripper navigation pod. The mid-range Dash and top-tier Flash variants come equipped with a 4-inch TFT display similar to that on the new Himalayan.
Pricing
The Guerrilla 450 starts at Rs 2.39 lakh for the base Analogue variant. The Dash variant is priced at Rs 2.49 lakh, while the Flash variant, the highest spec, costs Rs 2.54 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom, Chennai.
Engine and Gearbox
The Guerrilla 450 shares its 450cc powertrain with the Himalayan but features a re-tuned engine optimized for urban riding. It offers improved responsiveness in the low and mid-range power band. While the Guerrilla retains the same 6-speed gearbox as the Himalayan, it comes with a smaller 45-teeth rear sprocket instead of the Himalayan’s 47-teeth, enhancing low-end torque.
Optional Features
The base Analogue variant includes a semi-digital instrument cluster and offers an optional Tripper navigation pod for turn-by-turn directions. Standard features across all variants include all-LED lighting, a USB Type-C charging port, ride-by-wire technology, dual-channel ABS, and two riding modes: Eco and Performance. The Dash and Flash variants come with a TFT digital console featuring Google Maps integration and smart connectivity.
Competition
The Guerrilla 450 competes with several models in the market, including the Harley-Davidson X440, Triumph Speed 400, and Hero Maverick 440. It also faces competition from other naked motorcycles in a similar price range, such as the Honda CB300R and Husqvarna Svartpilen 401.
All prices ex-showroom, Chennai
