Disney+ Hotstar becomes the first streaming service to introduce innovative viewing by offering the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in Dolby Vision.

Cricket enthusiasts have something to cheer about as Disney+ Hotstar has elevated their viewing experience. The streaming service made headlines on Friday by being the pioneer in providing live sports streaming in Dolby Vision for cricket in India and worldwide. They’ve confirmed that all matches, from the Super 8s to the semi-finals and finals of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, will be live-streamed in Dolby Vision on Disney+ Hotstar.

It’s worth noting that Dolby Vision access during the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup will be exclusive to Premium subscribers. Disney+ Hotstar promises viewers an immersive experience with Dolby Vision’s vibrant colors, sharp contrast, and intricate details, bringing every thrilling moment of the game to life.

Mukund Acharya, Head of Engineering at Disney+ Hotstar, expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration with Dolby, stating, “We are delighted to introduce Dolby Vision for our Premium-only users to experience the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 on their screens like never before. Our collaboration with Dolby marks a significant step for sports streaming in India; and sets a new precedence towards our efforts in offering the best in entertainment and technology.”

With Dolby Vision, viewers can anticipate heightened contrast, vivid colors, and enhanced detail, making it a standout feature of Disney+ Hotstar’s Premium subscription.

It’s important to note that only select 4K-enabled Smart TVs supporting Dolby Vision will be able to stream these matches. Disney+ Hotstar remains at the forefront of innovation in providing top-notch entertainment experiences, with the inclusion of Dolby Vision for live cricket streaming underscoring this dedication.

Dolby Vision, developed by Dolby Laboratories, delivers high dynamic range (HDR) video. Introduced in 2014, Dolby Vision supports resolutions up to 8K, offers up to 12-bit color depth, and achieves a peak brightness of 10,000 nits.
